Snackable Giglets
One key factor of the ISITometer project is the concept of developing the platform and content through crowdsourcing by breaking all the work down into bite sized chunks. We refer to these tasks as ‘Snackable Giglets’.
A snackable giglet is a clearly defined task that should take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to do. Each snackable giglet will include all the step-by-step instructions that a skilled worker requires to complete the tasks, and links to all the tools and resources they need to access related material and check in work. A contractor should be able to easily deliver completed work with no instructions from another person.
The type of people who would be hired to complete Snackable Giglets include:
- Front-end Developers
- Back-end Developers
- Data Architects
- Content Creators
- Graphic Designers
- Digital Marketing
- Video Production
- Actors/Voice
- AI Query Engineering
- Blockchain/Crypto Eevelopers
Examples of snackable gigs could include:
Great a social media meme in all sizes to correspond to top social media platforms
Write a 500 word article on how a concept relates to the ISIT Construct
Generate a 5-minute animated video using AI tools based on a given script
Access specified files in a shared repository and change the functionality of a feature
Write a snackable gig definition to accomplish a given objective
Snackable giglets are the building blocks of the platform development process. Though there will certainly need to be ongoing strategic thought and discussion at central stages of the project, the objective will be to reduce as much work as possible down into modular, snackable giglets so that all development can be done as automatically and asynchronously as possible.
Each snackable giglet will have a set fee that is determined by the membership, both in terms of ISIT Tokens and USD. Delivering Snackable Giglets will be a key method for members to earn ISIT Tokens once they have become members. And the Snackable Giglets program will also be employed as one of our primary recruiting channels for new members.
Snackable Giglets can be advertised on crowdsourcing sites such as Mechanical Turk, freelancing platforms such as Upwork, Guru and Freelancer as well as various other places where skilled talent seek contract work. The people who apply to the gigs will be directed to a page that describes the ISITometer project and the Snackable Giglets program briefly, and includes the details of this gig.
The interview process for each gig will be used to identify people who are genuinely interested in the ISITometer project itself, not just earning a few bucks. Only people who are actually interested will be hired to deliver Snackable Gigs. The people who are hired become the prospect pool for our next round of recruits.
These contributions will prime the development and promotion pumps. The work done by creators, developers and promoters through the Snackable Gigs programs will provide the material we need to move the project forward in the early stages before there are enough members to get all the work done.
As the ISITometer expands, the Snackable Gigs program will apply increasingly only to members and less to the promotional program. But either way, it will be a frictionless, distributed methodology for mobilizing contributors to the ISITometer.
